  • Pool Opening

    Pool Opening Checklist (Spring/Start of Season)

    Preparation & Setup

    Remove, clean, and store the pool cover at the client’s site.

    Remove plugs from pool plumbing lines and de-winterize all pool equipment.

    Mount ladders and handrails securely.

    System Inspection & Startup

    Start the system and inspect the operation of all equipment:

    Pump

    Filter

    Heater

    Lights (if applicable)

    Thoroughly inspect all pool system components, including:

    Heaters

    Chemical feeders

    Filtration system

    Flow meters

    Pressure gauges

    Valves

    Underwater lights

    Water Treatment & Compliance

    Apply an initial dose of chemicals to balance the water for a clean start to the season.

    (Commercial Pools Only) Provide the client with an opening checklist, including required items for public pool readiness and compliance with local health codes.

  • Weekly Service

    Can be full cleaning service or chemical balance only! You choose!

    Water & Filtration

    Vacuum and clean the waterline as needed.

    Backwash or clean the filter (as required).

    Add water to maintain the proper level.

    Clean out skimmer and pump baskets.

    Equipment Inspection

    Check for leaks in pipes, pump, and filter system.

    Ensure the pump is running properly.

    Verify that the heater is functioning correctly (if applicable).

    Inspect and clean the pool sweep or robotic cleaner.

    (Commercial properties) Thoroughly check the automatic chemical controller, including:

    Checking chemical supplies.

    Inspecting supply hoses for wear or leaks.

    Ensuring proper chemical levels.

    Reviewing system for error codes or malfunctions.

    Chemical Balance

    Test water chemistry (pH, chlorine, alkalinity, and other necessary levels).

    Adjust chemicals to maintain chemistry within tolerances established by the American Public Health Association (APHA).

    Pool & Deck Area

    Skim debris from the surface.

    Brush walls and steps to prevent algae buildup.

    Straighten and clean deck furniture.

    Inspect handrails, ladders, and diving boards for safety.

  • Pool Closing

    Water & Filtration

    Backwash the filter.

    Lower water to the proper closing level.

    Plumbing & Protection

    Blow water out of skimmer, return, and main drain lines.

    Add antifreeze to skimmer, return, and main drain lines.

    Plug returns and skimmers.

    Drain water and remove or open drain plugs from the system (filter, pump, heater, etc.).

    Equipment & Accessories

    Remove ladders and handrails.

    Remove and store skimmer baskets.

    Clean chemical feeders, drain and store hoses, and lubricate the filter system.

    Final Steps

    Apply winterization chemicals.

    Install the pool cover securely.
